Greeting from JING LIU in Bangkok, Thailand

Hi!Everyone! This is JING LIU from Bangkok! How are you doing? Long time no see!

Thank you for Yamada sensei's update! Our blog has not been updated for a long time... It is really great to hear from Ken and to know his recent activity in Senegal! Also, it is nice to know that he is being involved in the real parcitipartary activities in developing world. I really beg to hear more stories about his work in the field.

After being in Bangkok for more than one month, I have got used to the life here. As an intern, I have attended two workshops (ISCED--International Standard Classification on Education; LAMP-Literacy Aeeseeement and Monitoring Program) which were organized by UNESCO Bangkok Office. Being involved in the critical discussions among specialists from different countries let me miss the life at GSID, our joint seminar and lectures... My intern is going to finish by Dec.23. Before leaving, the main task for me is to edit the EFA Monitoring Training Module which foucuses on the school personnel and education officers at district level. It is nice to hear that most of the specialists in UENSCO have realized that in order to achieve a good quality EFA Monitoring and Asseseement, it is crucial for the people at the field level to understand more about the process of data collection and the mechanism of school census, etc. I also heard that this module is going to be designed into website as well. UNESCO plans to make it as a interactive module for people who will be involved in the EFA Monitoring and Assessment. To be frank, I am very happy to be involved in this program. I wish my work can really help people in the field to improve their understanding and skills for school census and data collection for EFA Monioring.

How are you doing, my dear friends? I guess M2 students must be busy with your thesis writing. M1 students are busy with a new-round of lecture taking, reading, and reports writing... Anyway, I wish you all enjoy the life at GSID. I will keep you updated about my life in Bangkok!!! All the best!!!
